The latest model is an 84″ Ultra HD, 4K display, the worlds largest Transparent LCD. We have already sold a number around the world and have samples in the UK ready to ship. The larger range of transparent panels also include 32″, 42″, 47″, 55″ and 70″, all Full HD 1920 x 1080 for optimum visual quality. Our TOLED Display has Arrived

Check out our first Transparent OLED sample that has arrived in our UK office in Kent, it looks amazing and we are very impressed with it but what do you think? See it in action in the sneak preview below. Our TOLED displays are currently available in a 55” module & utilising the very latest production techniques, this self-emitting display enables a crisp image while also offering a high transmittance rate of around 45%. The self-emissive pixels contain 4 sub pixels, Red, Green & Blue for generating outstanding vibrant colours, and the final sub pixel (which would typically be black) is now clear, facilitating the transparency. Poly-silicon TFTs act as the switching method for the Active Matrix of OLED generating a sumptuously rich colour palette of over 1 Billion Colours, with a 180 degree viewing angle in both Vertical and horizontal planes, delivering a mind blowing visual to even a large audience. Aviator’s Show Stopping Transparent Extravaganza at Baselworld

Aviator impressed all this year at Baselworld, the world famous Watch and Jewellery show this March, with their innovative use of two of our 55″ transparent LCD displays. Here at CDS we are always keen to experience the end result of our customers ideas and projects and were very happy to visit this particular masterpiece in Switzerland.   With some amazing content and some very clever product placement a magnificent showcase display is created to fully show off the high quality watches with interesting history and background adding to their appeal. Johnson & Johnson Impress with their Transparent Booth

Take a look at the transparent screens in action at the EASD meeting on Johnson & Johnson’s LifeScan OneTouch booth. Can Transparent Displays Work with no LED Backlight?

As  a specialist in transparent Displays we are often asked whether T-LCDs can be used in ambient light, i.e. without a backlit showcase box which it does as you can see in the video attached.  But clearly the image quality is not as crisp and bright without a backlight directly behind the display.  For some clients this made it difficult to make a decision on the way forward so we made this specific video so you and any other viewers can see just how good it is in standard normal ambient light! Clearly if it is a bright sunny day then the image quality will improve in line with the amount of increased ambient light on the back of the display. Take a look at the YouTube clip below of one of our Transparent LCD panels in direct sunlight, on a much brighter day in the Summer months. This just shows the quality of the transparent screen with direct sunlight rather than LED backlighting, still looking great but obviously offering a lower % of transparency than LED backlights would give. This is why we always encourage LED lighting when customers ask for our advice on lighting and how transparent displays work without lighting and in shop windows. Below is an example of how the panels look but obviously it is not sunny all year long in the UK, as in many other countries, unfortunately.
